Kia ora! I’m Yuri, and I have called New Zealand home since 2014. Living in Wellington, Christchurch, and now Auckland. I have always had a love for the outdoors, and over the years, that passion has deepened into something more meaningful.
After several attempts, I finally secured a spot in the 2025 Coast to Coast, an iconic multisport event I would long hoped to tackle. This entry was especially meaningful, as I dedicated my training to a close family member who passed away earlier in the year. They were not only dear to me, but also a guiding example throughout my life.
From couch to Coast in just six months, the journey was intense, transformative, and incredibly rewarding. Every step, every early morning run, every paddle, every ride became something surprisingly fun and energising. Training turned into a way to celebrate movement, clear my head, and reconnect with the outdoors. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much, but I did, and now I am already looking forward to the next adventure.
If you are looking for someone who thrives on logistics, precision, and a bit of adventure, that’s Hash. An aviator by trade and a key part of the Coast to Coast support crew, he is the one behind the scenes making sure athletes get where they need to be, on time, fully prepped, and ready to race.
In his spare time, Hash builds aircraft, vehicle and boat models, a passion that led him to train with Weta, where he learned to work with advanced materials like fiberglass and carbon fibre. That hands-on experience sparked a new interest in kayak repairs, and he now enjoys the challenge of restoring damaged gear back to its original condition.
Whether he is in his workshop, out on the ocean, or exploring bike trails, Hash brings energy, curiosity, and a can-do attitude to everything he does.
